Consider serving on our Board

EBHA members who live and/or work in Linn, Benton, or Lincoln Counties are encouraged to volunteer to serve on the Board. Serving on the board of a professional organization such as EBHA is a great opportunity to give back to the community and further one's own professional identity and development.

About Board service

We estimate that board service represents a commitment of 3 to 5 hours each month. As part of that, we ask for regular attendance at monthly board meetings (1½ hours), the annual half-day Board-retreat, and ideally at the two annual social gatherings. Board meetings are currently held on the 2nd Friday of each month from 8 to 9:30am. There are opportunities to volunteer for meaningful projects that require more time than the basic expected commitment.

The Board consists of not less than three, but no more than nine persons who are members of EBHA. Terms of office are typically 2 years, and Board service has a limit of up to three consecutive terms. The Board consists of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and members at-large. Desirable skills of Board members include leadership, organization, networking, advocacy, information technology, and bookkeeping (if serving in the Treasurer role). There is no monetary compensation for Board service.
