We are excited for you to join us for some refreshments and drinks while we relax, connect, and reflect on 2026. There may be a little forecasting into 2027 as well. We look forward to seeing you soon!
When: December 10, 2026 from 5 PM to 7 PM
Where: 2 Towns Ciderhouse Taproom, 3930 SE Eastgate Cir, Corvallis, OR 97333
Training Description:
Nonviolent Communication was developed during the 1960s in direct response to anti-Semitism and anti-Black racism. The principles of NVC are heavily influenced by the Gandhian principle of nonviolence and the work of Martin Luther King Jr., focusing on fostering compassionate, empathetic connection rather than blame or judgment. Nonviolent communication is a proven strategy for effecting positive change in organizations, interpersonal relationships, and one’s own internal experience. NVC principles have been used effectively to combat echo chambers, reach across political divides, and even deprogram cult members. In our polarized society, these skills are needed more than ever.
As a result of participation in this workshop, participants will:
(1) Help clients separate facts (Observations) from opinions (Evaluations)
(2) Guide clients to look past blame to identify their Feelings and Needs
(3) Teach individual, couple, and family clients how to ask for what they want using clear, actionable Requests in place of demands
(4) Apply NVC tools to help clients practice self-compassion, problem-solve issues in relationships, and reduce deep-seated shame
(5) Apply NVC tools to help clinicians access self-empathy to enhance their own well-being and support their Needs
Speaker:
Tina Taylor is a Registered Nurse with her Masters in Counseling. She owns Stress Solutions LLC, a private practice in Corvallis, Oregon, where her consulting centers on NVC. She has also worked as a mediator in the Small Claims Court, and spent 10 years teaching NVC to inmates at the Oregon State Penitentiary. She is a dancer and yogini, a speaker and writer, and is passionate about bringing NVC to you in a fun, grounded, and practical way.
Certificate of Attendance Requirements:
Full attendance and a post-training workshop evaluation are required to receive a certificate. Certificates will be sent out electronically after the training to your registration email address, along with any materials from the presentation. EBHA's CE courses are certified by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Typically, other licensing boards accept NASW certified courses. It is the participant's responsibility to check with their state board to verify CE requirements.
